You’re two episodes and three glasses into This is Us before you decide to hit the hay- only to realize that you’ve still got a full face of makeup on. Ugh. It’s easy just to grab a makeup removing wipe and hit the sheets, but taking care of your skin properly requires commitment. Here’s our 5-minute night time beauty regimen for tired and on-the-go girls with just a few minutes to spare.
1. Remove Eye Makeup
Don’t get us wrong; we LOVE makeup remover wipes more than anything. But when we’re tired, we have a tendency to rub and pull on our eyes, which is amplified when we’re using a wipe. It’s important to be ultra gentle on our peepers, being careful not to pull excessively. We love Bare Minerals Waterproof Eye Make-Up Remover, which takes off even the toughest mascara + eyeshadow. Dab a little on a cotton ball and gently sweep over your lids and under your waterline.
After removing your eye makeup, it’s time to wash off the rest of your day. A simple non-foaming cleanser is a girl’s best friend on lazy nights; our go-to is Estee Lauder’s Perfectly Clean Creme Cleanser, which works on all skin types. Apply in circular motions and rinse until the water in your sink runs clear. (Don’t forget your neck, especially if you tend to blend your foundation beyond your jaw line.)
In between cleansing and moisturizing, you’ll want to use a Facial Spray to tone, hydrate, and soften skin. Close your eyes and give your whole face 3-4 spritzes. Don’t pat dry; you’ll use the mist as a base for your moisturizer.
Unscented moisturizer, preferably one with an SPF, is ideal for sleeping. Apply to your skin in circular motions, massaging both your hydrating mist and moisturizer into your pores. Don’t forget your neck and décolletage.
